The Colnago G5-X is a next-generation gravel bike built on an entirely new platform that combines speed, control and versatility. Its monocoque carbon frame and carbon fork feature fully integrated cable routing, while revised geometry improves stability on rough surfaces and technical descents. Clearance for tyres up to 53 mm nominal width makes room for different gravel setups. An internal downtube storage compartment and six mounting points help carry tools and essentials, while the 27.2 mm round seatpost broadens setup options for demanding rides.
The Colnago G5-X brings a new approach to modern gravel riding. Rather than a simple update to the G4-X, it is an entirely new platform shaped around the demands of riders who move between fast gravel roads, rough surfaces and technical descents. Colnago draws on its performance cycling experience to pursue precise, versatile handling.
At its heart is a monocoque carbon frame paired with a Colnago G5-X carbon fork designed for disc brakes. Cables are fully integrated, and the headset is integrated into the frame design. Revised geometry aims to deliver greater control and stability on challenging gravel and descents, particularly at higher speeds. Generous tyre clearance adds another important dimension: the frame accommodates tyres up to 53 mm nominal width, with 6 mm of stated clearance, allowing riders to select tyres to suit the terrain and conditions.
The G5-X also makes room for the practical side of gravel cycling. A storage compartment inside the downtube is accessed through a removable plate and provides space for tools and spare parts; the storage bag and repair kit are not included. Six mounting points extend carrying options: two conventional bottle cage positions, one beneath the downtube, one on the top tube and two on the fork for bottle or cargo cages. The removable plate supports conventional bottle cages or the FIDLOCK system.
The Colnago carbon seatpost has a 27.2 mm round profile and -15 mm offset. This shape may allow compatibility with certain dropper seatposts, an option for riders seeking extra freedom of movement on technical descents. A BSA 68 mm bottom bracket and a UDH-compatible rear dropout complete the platform. The G5-X is offered in different builds, so drivetrain and wheel specifications depend on the selected configuration. From everyday gravel exploring to demanding days on rough tracks, it combines focused engineering with useful storage and mounting solutions.
