The Trek Marlin 5 Gen 3 is a versatile hardtail mountain bike designed for riders who want to explore trails while keeping everyday practicality. Its third-generation trail geometry is built to inspire confidence and control on uneven terrain, without limiting the bike to off-road use. Whether you are discovering your first singletrack or commuting across town, the Marlin 5 brings the feel and capability of a mountain bike to every ride.

The Alpha Silver Aluminium frame pairs clean styling with internal routing for the rear derailleur cable and a compatible dropper post. Rack and kickstand mounts make it easy to adapt the bike for regular journeys and leisure rides. The XS frame features a curved top tube for a lower standover height. With seven sizes from XS to XXL, the Marlin 5 uses 27.5-inch wheels on XS and S frames and 29-inch wheels from M through XXL, helping riders find an appropriate fit and wheel size.

Up front, the SR Suntour XCT 30 coil-sprung fork offers preload adjustment and hydraulic lockout. Travel is 80 mm on the XS size and 100 mm on all other sizes. The 9-speed Shimano CUES drivetrain includes a U4000 rear derailleur, U4001 crankset with a 32-tooth chainring and Shimano LINKGLIDE LG300 11-46 cassette. LINKGLIDE technology is designed for durable wear components and smooth, decisive shifting, a useful combination for repeated rides on varied routes.

Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes provide controlled braking for changes in pace and terrain. Double-wall Bontrager Connection rims are paired with Bontrager Montrose Comp 2.40-inch tyres, providing a practical setup for roads, paths and dirt tracks. A Bontrager Verse Short saddle and Trek Line Comp grips complete the main contact points. By combining useful commuter fittings with genuine trail-focused features, the Trek Marlin 5 Gen 3 makes a compelling choice for new mountain bikers and riders who want one bike for everyday adventures.
